Clear float 4mm and 5mm work best for standard residential windows and interior partitions. For commercial facades and curtain walls, specify 6mm to 10mm depending on wind load requirements. For structural glazing and balustrades, use 10mm or thicker.
Egyptian float glass is manufactured using the same Pilkington float process used in Europe and North America. Nigerian glass manufacturers primarily use older sheet glass technology which produces panels with visible waves and uneven thickness.
